1. Pet food - ARC always needs quality pet food. Unfortunately, we cannot use food that was placed on the recall list:  http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/petfoodrecall/  Brands we prefer are: Purina, Friskies, Science Diet, Diamond, and Pedigree.  Please see below to download our shopping list to take with you next time you shop!

 

2. Collars and Leashes - We use collars and leashes at events for animals that may not have one, such as puppies and strays.  Please NO CHOKE CHAINS OR ADJUSTABLE SLIP COLLARS!!  We lost a very special life to one of these collars.

 

3. Cat Litter - Cat litter is a great need for our litters of kittens and cats. Tidy Cat, Fresh Step, and other litters of this type are preferred, as they are better at doing their job! :)

 

4. Vet Care - Donations to our accounts at local vet clinics are very useful.  When pets are taken to the vet for emergencies, sickness, or regular vet care, donations are used to pay the vet costs.  If you would like more information on how to do this, please email animalrescueofcarroll@yahoo.com

 

5. Sponsor an Ad - You or your business may sponsor an ad in The Daily Times Herald for one or more of our adoptable pets.  Please contact us and we will help arrange the ad.

 

6. Volunteer - Volunteers are needed for events, veterinary visits and transportation, home visits, and meeting potential adopters with pets.  Check our page on volunteer information.

 

7. General Supplies - Things such as Frontline, Advantix, pet carriers, bowls, blankets, beds, animal care products, toys, etc.  Please contact us and we can arrange for pick up or a drop-off site.

 

8. Gift Cards & Gas Cards - Gift cards to Walmart, Tractor Supply, Bomgaars, Earl May, Kmart, Petsmart, etc. can help shoulder the burden on our volunteers who spend their own money on gas to transport animals to and from vets, visits, etc. These would also be used for animal care, nutrition and for supplies for events. 

 

9. Money - Monetary donations to our organization are always appreciated.  Donations go towards vet costs, pet care, and event costs.  Donations can be mailed to: Iowa Community Credit Union, c/o Kathy Steffes, 503 Hwy 30 W, Carroll, Iowa 51401.
